I support Nvidia because they support developers. I see AMD as the hardware vendor with a "me too" product, doing far less for the community as a whole from the initial creation of IP to the end, released product.

Nvidia's right there to offer a set a tools they can "drop in" and get those things. Even if the game uses PhysX it doesn't mean that it supports GPU accelerated PhysX. Many games use PhysX libraries (by default it handles the physics stuff in UE3 for example). Developers don't want to spend the time and money to create their own visual effects, like realistic cloth, smoke, hair, particle explosions, etc. Actually he does if he wants to play games on PC and expect them to work (though it sounds like he's not going to play games on PC any more).
It's "Gameworks" now more than just Physx.
